Basics demonstrate your complete mastery of the sport and give your gymnastics an edge that makes you stand out from the crowd.

So, since I love basics, I loved this little gymnast from the Season’s Greetings meet on Saturday. She had great basics, great form and really sold her routines…so refreshing! She stood out among all of the gymnasts there and was in a class of her own. Such a cutie!

Meet season has started! I spent a lot of this weekend browsing the internet for information on all of the meets that are going on. The beginning of a meet season is so exciting. Getting to see all of the improvements everyone has made, new routines, new skills, and of course….new leos!

Saturday I spent a few hours watching the Level 9 and 10 session at the Steel City Invitational hosted by Pittsburgh Northstars. They have a brand new gym and hosted a new meet in it for the first time. It’s good for photographers, the light was great! (As far as gyms go). I got to catch up with a few great coaches I know and get back in the groove of shooting gymnastics.

College teams are gearing up for the start of their season as well. I am looking forward to Pitt’s Blue Gold Intrasquad on Friday. And if you are a gymnastics fan you will want to check out the videos from #1 ranked Georgia’s Sneak Peak intrasquad.
