About RWS Photography | Fun children's portraits

You've made it to the place where children's photography is fun and relaxed. No stiff poses or fakey smiles allowed! Show off your favorite toys, make silly faces and roll around in the leaves. What do you get? A photo that really captures a piece of your child's personality. It's those little details you will remember about them...their cowlicks and freckles, their tiny fingers and missing front teeth.

And since you made it here (woohoo!), take some time to check out the links at the very bottom of this page for all things cool, and the links across the top of the page for answers to all of your questions. Enjoy!

Sr. Women Prelims – 2010 Visa Championships

August 14th, 2010

While the senior prelim session features less than half the number of gymnasts as the junior session, the seniors come with major credentials and bunches of international medals. One of the most compelling stories has been the return of Alicia Sacramone to competition. She retired after the 2008 Olympics and has returned looking refreshed, and in many ways, a better gymnast than she was before.

Also making appearances at these Championships are:
Rebecca Bross (WOGA) The 2010 American Cup champion and 2009 World AA silver medalist.
Bridget Sloan (Sharp’s) The 2009 World AA gold medalist and reigning National Champion.
Mattie Larson (AOGC) The 2010 Covergirl Classic AA champion who has been plagued by injuries but is beloved by fans around the world.
Plus, Mackenzie Caquatto (Legacy Elite), Chelsea Davis (Texas Dreams), Kytra Hunter (Hills), Alexandra Raisman (Brestyan’s), Cassie Whitcomb (CGA) and Vanessa Zamarripa (UCLA).

My favorites from this session.

Complete galleries from each session of the meet will be here.

Jr. Women Prelims – 2010 Visa Championships

August 13th, 2010

One of my goals for myself as a professional photographer was to shoot Nationals as a media-credentialed photographer from the floor of the arena.

::insert lots of smiley faces here::

I am happy and proud to say that it has happened! Anne from Gymnastike generously allowed me to team up with her during her coverage of the event. I will be posting previews (in other words, the photos I just can’t wait to process) of each of the women’s sessions here on my blog and in my Gymnastike photo galleries.

Complete galleries from each session of the meet will be here after the National Champions are crowned Saturday, August 14th!

*I have to give a very special shoutout to my amazing husband here. He puts up with all of my gymnastics craziness and gives me 100% of his support. When he married me I’m not sure he knew he would get dragged around to meets all over the country like the poor little brothers you see toiling away at meets with their backpacks full of books, video games and entertainment for their sister’s 8-hour-long gymnastics meet.
